Web Site Updates

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Today I added links to the Unit’s two most recent rallies, Region 3 and Yost Farm.  I added recommended content, under the Menu for About Us, including the Code of Ethics, Caravanners Safety Practices, Cooperation, and Creed.  And I updated the Events Schedule to reflect only the upcoming events.

Please feel free to let us know how you feel about these changes or any other aspect of your Club’s web site?  You can email me at carolinasnc@gmail.com

March 1 Luncheon Meeting

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

The March 1, 2008 Noon Luncheon at Fat Boys Restaurant in Mooresville was a great success! Our Club’s attendance was 54 including one guest and three new members. This appears to be our largest turn-out in recent history for a luncheon meeting. We were sorry to have missed so many people, but are thankful for the familiar and the new faces we shared lunch and talk with.

Bob Clark encouraged all members interested in upcoming rallies to start now arranging their reservations for the respective rallies. The exception is to wait until May 1st for Virginia Highland Haven Airstream Park as they are not open until then. If you want to join Carolinas Unit of NC for our Ocean Lakes Myrtle Beach rally in November please email Bob Clark as soon as possible to obtain one of the few remaining spots for this great rally location. The rates are only $31/night and Bob has the reservation sheets for our Club’s allotted spaces for the Ocean Lakes rally.

Rick Rorie presented a final draft of the flag design for the club’s vote, and the flag was unanimously approved for submission by Jim Cocke to Region 3 Leadership. Our Club will not plan to write or consider any orders until approval from WBCCI International Board. Ray Moser posed an excellent question on the purpose of the flag — this flag will, upon approval by WBCCI, become an optional flag for any member of Carolinas Unit to fly. Members of WBCCI should attend to the Flag requirements and etiquette presented in the WBCCI Blue Book (available on line and from your officers). Past officers could elect to fly their Past Officer flag or, like any member, could fly the Unit flag instead of a Past Officer flag.

NOTICE: The FEBRUARY 2008 Tarheel Traveler newsletter of Carolinas Unit is on the website — select Tarheel Traveler Newsletters from the MENU on the right side of your screen, then click on the first newsletter at the top of the list to see the information-packed first edition for this year. Any problems opening or reading, please email Jim Cocke at dreamstreamr@gmail.com. Happy Reading!

2008 RALLY SITE HOSTS

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Please review the 2008 Rally Schedule and see if you are familiar with any of the sites and the surrounding area.

If you are familiar, please consider being the rally host for that particular rally. The rally host would create the agenda (meals away from the rally site, nearby places of interest, any other group activities on or off site) for that particular rally. I would help the host coordinate the agenda with the meals prepared by our wonderful cooks at the rally.

Please contact me if you would consider tackling this important task!
