February 2008 Luncheon Meeting

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Carolinas Unit of NC enjoyed another very well-attended luncheon meeting Saturday, February 2, at Gary’s Barbecue in China Grove. We had 48 attendees including new members Jim and Pat Waters debuting and grandchildren of Nat and Jack Bingaman, John and Amber [see luncheon pictures by clicking here or by clicking on the Menu choice for Pictures]. Rick Rorie presented numerous flag options for Carolinas Unit of NC and the members provided constructive feedback on the choices. I welcomed Charlie Fishel’s excellent suggestion of commissioning a blue ribbon committee to study the flags issue. Linda Fishel, Duane Carter, Rick Rorie, and Betsy Spoerer volunteered to work together on the Unit flag options. I asked them to work together on this and return Unit Flag recommendations to the membership at our next meeting on March 1 at Fat Boys in Mooresville. Thanks to Rick for volunteering the time, creativity, and effort for this exciting iniative for our Club.

Gary and Diane did a fantastic job catering our club’s luncheon in the club meeting room. Many of you attended last year’s luncheon meeting in the restaurant and let me know we wanted a better meeting space but the food was fine. Gary took care of your request for this year’s meeting with well-arranged space for the buffet and dining tables, piping hot food, and beverage service to our tables. I hope you found this year’s arrangement exceeded your expectations or will let me or Bob Clark or Linda Fishel know otherwise. We try not to read your minds although we really want to know what you want and how you feel about what we do for the club. So let us know. Write us an email, or pick up the phone and call any of us. We work for you.

See You Down The Road,

Jim
